3 ON 3 LEAGUE RULES
 Coaching is only in 4th, 5th & 6th grade divisions. ABSOLUTELY NO COACHING AT ANY
OTHER LEVEL. Cheering is encouraged. Know the difference.
 No swearing, taunting or other inappropriate verbal or physical behavior.
Unsportsmanlike play can result in: 1) warning 2) 2 minutes sitting out (ref discretion)
and/or 3) ejection from the game, the evening or entire league (site director discretion)
 Berating of officials by fans or players may lead to dismissal of remainder of that evenings
game(s) and/or entire league
 Game times are 20 minutes running time. Guaranteed 8 games through the season.
Double headers on game days. Timeouts are not allowed.
 Unlimited substitutions after made baskets or when ball is NOT in play.
 All players need completed liability waivers signed by a parent/guardian on file & grade
verification (copy of student ID or report card). Subs are NOT allowed to play without this
waiver on file.
 A team can play with 2 players (3 on 2).
 If a team chooses to play with subs ( non-roster players), the game will be reffed & scored.
However, the game will be recorded as a forfeit: 10-0.
 Scoring: 2 points per basket inside of arc. 3 points per basket outside of arc.
 Free Throws: 1 shot will be given to player who is fouled in the act of shooting. A missed
FT is a live ball (unless it’s an air ball). Players should line up per regular foul shot
attempts. A FT is worth 2 points. 3 points for a 3 pointer. 1 point after a made basket.
 Bonus FT’s will be given to a player on any foul inside of 4 minutes left in a game.
 Intentional fouls, no matter the time of the game, will result in 2 points PLUS the ball.
 If unnecessary or excessive fouls occur, the ref may impose a technical foul (2 points plus
the ball.
 Players have 6 seconds to shoot a FT once teams are lined up.
 Following a made basket or dead ball, the other team can ‘check’ the ball anywhere behind
the arc.
 Both feet and the ball must go behind the 3 point line at any change of possession.
 A ball that goes out of bounds will be checked in behind the arc. The half court line is out
of bounds.
 Defense gets all jump balls.
 3 seconds in the lane: Refs will issue reminders. Excessive violations will result in a
turnover.
 A defensive rebound must be taken behind the arc (this includes ‘air balls’). There are no
‘free backs’.
 No stalling. There will be a ‘Refs discretion’ 30 second clock. Failure to shoot in a 30
second time frame will result in a turnover.
 No dunking in warm-ups. This may result in game or league ejection.
 ‘Paper, rock, scissors’ (PRS) will determine who gets the ball 1st. The court monitor
assigned to your court will monitor the PRS, ref your game and record the outcome with
the site manager.
 Ties will be settled with a sudden death FT shootout. Each team receives equal
opportunities to shoot FT’s until one team misses one. New shooter each time.
 Shake hands with opponents.
 No refunds after T-Shirts are ordered.
 No refunds if a player is ejected from the league.
 Please help keep the facilities clean.
THANK YOU!!!
