UME JUNIOR GAME DESIGN – GRADES 1-2

Learn how to create board games and video games! Students will learn creative problem
solving, design thinking and digital literacy through the game design process. Designed for
young learners, this session begins with students learning to work in teams to create board
games, design game art and sculpt player pieces. Students then learn how to use a laptop,
mouse and Unity3D software to create their own video games!
The session will conclude with a Demo Day for students to showcase their creations to family
and friends. All hardware, software and supplies are included.

UME TEAM GAME DESIGN – GRADES 3-7
Thursdays
8:00AM - 9:00AM, Mar 30 - June 22 (12 Classes), $240
Team Game Design is for students who have completed one or more UME Game Design
classes. In this session, students will work in teams, learning the soft skills of how to
communicate ideas, give feedback and iterate in a group setting and the digital skills of file
sharing, file system navigation and game collaboration in Unity3D.
Students will have the opportunity to refine core technology skills and learn new ones including
programming, audio editing and advanced digital image painting.
Learning to work as a team can be challenging, this class will help show them the rewards!
The session will conclude with a Demo Day for students to showcase their creations to family
and friends. All hardware, software and supplies are included.
