Application Management
As the cornerstone of the post-production services program, our application management
service evolves over time to support each of our customer’s changing needs and
requirements. Oracle believes that by providing our customers with the means to expand the
scope of their application maintenance beyond support of the base product, we can provide
our customers with the ability to maximize the return on the software investment.
Proper application maintenance is central to maximizing the efficiency of any commercial
application. While the standard license and service agreement covers base product
maintenance, our application management service expands the scope of coverage to include
assistance with day to day system operation including data correction and management, the
application of patches and updates, support of custom code such as interfaces and plug-ins,
and development of new code, even version upgrades. Oracle’s Lifecycle Management
Services provide our customers with the ability to extend their system support, and even their
system functionality, through a trusted partner who knows the application and the business
better than any other vendor in the market.
Environment Management
Because proper environment management and maintenance is critical to the successful longterm operation of any application, Oracle provides environment management as part of its
post-production services offering. These services are designed to optimize the performance
of the application over the full lifecycle of the application and can be structured to include
scheduled system maintenance activities or it can be based more on the impromptu needs
of the customer. Oracle’s technical team works in conjunction with each customer’s
own technical staff to identify opportunities for improvement and long-term environment
strategies.
On-Site Support
While most of our services can be successfully delivered remotely through a secure VPN
connection, many customers also opt for on-site support. On-site resources can be used to
ensure the success of particular initiative, to provide support in the time of a crisis situation,
or as long-term resources embedded within the customer’s functional or technical teams
taking staff augmentation to a whole new level.
Regardless of the circumstances or the drivers, embedding Oracle resources within the
customer’s own team provides the customer with a direct link into Oracle’s Customer
Support, Lifecycle Management Services, Product Development and Product Management
organizations. This approach allows for maximum visibility into issues and bugs and gives
the customer instant access to subject matter expertise that can take years to develop
internally. Taking advantage of Oracle’s embedded resource model can provide the customer
with a fast-track option for building the skills of its own team, or the ability to focus its own
resources on other needs by outsourcing key areas of support. Either way, the customer’s
long-term goals and objectives are the key drivers in determining the right level of support.
