The ABLE4Teachers workshop is designed to
introduce participants to the knowledge and
skills required to adopt a relational
approach in their school. The workshop will
include an overview of the four stage,
evidence informed, brief intervention model
called ABLE. The model is designed to enable
teachers to recognise and use opportunities to engage with and listen
to, colleagues and parents especially at times of change, challenge
and / or upheaval.
The workshop, facilitated by an experienced Ag Eisteacht trainer, will
enable participants to:
 Recognise the benefits of relational wellbeing to those in the school community i.e. pupils, colleagues
and parents.
 Have an overview of current research linking brain development to relational wellbeing
 Be able to consider how the ABLE model could be used to offer brief, considered interventions, at those
times when a colleague or parent may seek a teacher’s support, during the course of their work.
