Canyon Ridge Inspiring the Innovators of Tomorrow Goal Area A Academic 20162017 CIP “We cannot accomplish all that we need to do without working together.” ~Bill Richardson The purpose of this document is to outline the data, steps, timelines, and expectations related to Canyon Ridge School’s accomplishment of Goal Area A, Academics continuous improvement plan for the 20152016 school year. The information will address the following questions: 1) What priorities will be addressed first? 2) What are the essential dates? 3) What resources will be needed? 4) What are the roles and expectations of administration, teachers, and students? 5) What are the measurements of success? SMART Goal: By May 2017, 95% of Kindergarten students, 80% of 1st and 2nd grade students will be at CORE as measured by DIBELS. K3 will get back. Baseline is (Kinder 93%, 1st 70%, 2nd 74%, 3rd 77%) SMART Goal: By May 2017, 85% of Canyon Ridge students will meet or exceed grade level standards in math and ELA, or reclassify a level, as evidenced by identified key measures.*see essential data below (Currently we are at 62% in ELA and 60% in math). SMART Goal: By May 2017, 90% of Canyon Ridge students will meet or exceed grade level standards as measured by the AIMS Science Exam. SMART GOAL: By May 2017 each grade level will have 3 STEM Units that rate in the top two ratings on the Planning Rubric. Canyon Ridge Staff are dedicated to being Better Tomorrow Than We Are Today. To accomplish this we align professional development to our school goals. Below find our goals for Professional Development for the 20162017 school year. A. Increase teacher capacity to design, implement and assess STEM lessons as measured by the STEM Implementation Rubric & 4Cs Rubric. (Instrument) B. Develop proficiency rubrics and assessments at each grade level for each ESSENTIAL STANDARD. (Website) C. Increase interrater reliability using the 6 Trait, identify EXEMPLAR papers, and increase teacher capacity to deliver on the spot writing lessons measured by observation. D. Increase teacher capacity to design, deliver and track data for Guided Reading and increase capacity to manage other initiatives in personalization (embedded on PLC days) E.
