THE EXPERIMENTAL SPACE.
As can be seen on the previous slide, we have a huge number of variables to consider, those
described (excluding the broad categories ‘things to avoid’) is 10x9x4 = 360. And these are
what might be called ‘gross variables’, because within each described heading there are more
variables in turn. For example, precisely what pre-treatment of Ni powder (if any) or which
of the many potential reactor heating profiles should we employ?
Taking these factors into account expands the space by a factor of at least 10, thus giving us a
staggering 3.600 experiments with no clear guarantees of success – for the key variable might
still elude us.
Thus it becomes obvious that without the luxury of a big team, a dedicated workspace and large
budget -the nuclear physics equivalent an infinite number of monkeys with typewriters – the
successful creation of a working LENR system - involves attempting to minimise the unknowns
by careful study of the available patents and papers to create a practical and logical series of
experiments where only one parameter is varied each time. Careful record keeping and data
Logging thus becomes a ‘must do’.
