Coaching license & experience: USSF A License, Started coaching for Boise Capitals in 2008 after coming

Playing experience: Played for Boise Capitals U10-U18, Played at WWCC for 2 years and transferred and
played my remaining 2 years at Truman State University.
Most memorable soccer experience: My most memorable soccer experience was actually as a coach. My then
U15 girls’ soccer team won the state title in Twin Falls. The pride and jubilation I felt for the girls on that
team was something that I had never experienced before. That moment/feeling will stick with me forever.
Favorite teams/players: Manchester United, Tottenham, Irish National Team, Rooney, Eddie Pope, Fabio
Cannavaro, Messi.
Mentor/hero: Mentor- I have had the privilege to have had 3 great mentors in my short coaching career.
Dave Chesler was my first and really taught and ignited the passion I have for coaching. Eric Simmonsen
and Michael Molly are the 2/3 that have help me grow further and continue to mentor.
Hero – John Wooden is someone who I aspire to be like. I have read everything I can find with his
teachings. My Dad worked with John Wooden at UCLA Basketball camps and has educated me on
Wooden’s Pyramid of Success from a very young age.
Favorite way to spend a few free hours: With my Family. I have a beautiful wife, a wonderful 6-year-old
daughter. With another daughter on the way, I will have my hands full. I also have a dog named Messi
(fittingly).
Last book read: 11/22/63 - Stephen King
Coaching philosophy: First and foremost to have fun and love the game. Teaching players how to be
great players while at the same time teaching them how to be even better teammates. Teams are successful
because they are just that, a TEAM. It is my job as a coach to inspire players to be the best that they can and
give them every opportunity to be successful on and off the field.
Favorite quote: “Perfection is impossible but striving for perfection is not. Do the best you can, that is
what counts” - John Wooden
