The National World War II Museum is a dynamic educational resource
serving the needs of teachers and students from grade school through
the post-graduate level. USA Today gave the Museum its top rank as the
“Best Places to Learn U.S. Military History." Exhibitions and programs
allow students from all backgrounds to explore the values and beliefs—
the universal concepts—that Americans and their Allies embraced
during World War II.

From the East
Take I-10 West. At the I-10/ 610 split, stay on I-10 west. This will take you into the downtown New Orleans area (you will see the high rise building and the Superdome off to your left). As you
come into the downtown area, you will need to follow the signs for "West Bank Expressway." This will line you up to go over the Greater New Orleans Bridge. You will take "St. Charles Avenue"
exit. At the base of the exit ramp, turn left onto St. Charles Avenue - that will take you back underneath the interstate bridge.
One block later, you will come to Lee Circle (a roundabout with a statue of Robert E. Lee in the center). All of the traffic on Lee Circle goes to the right, so you will turn right to enter the circle.
At the first right, which is Higgins Drive, you will turn right. As soon as you turn right onto Andrew Higgins, you will see the National WWII Museum in front of you. The main entrance is on Higgins
between Camp Street and Magazine Street. When you come into the museum, you can obtain tickets at the front desk.
From the South
Take Highway 90 East to the Greater New Orleans Bridge (GNO). Cross the GNO and get in the right hand lane. On the New Orleans side of the bridge, you will take the Camp Street exit. At the
base of the Camp Street exit ramp, you will see the National WWII Museum in front of you. The main entrance is on Higgins Drive between Camp Street and Magazine Street. When you come into
the Museum, you can obtain tickets at the front desk.
From the West
Take I-10 from Baton Rouge to New Orleans. At the I-10/ 610 Split, stay on I-10 east. This will take you into the downtown New Orleans area (you will see the high rise buildings and the
Superdome in front of you). As you come into the downtown area, you will need to follow the signs for the "West Bank Expressw ay." This will line you up to go over the Greater New Orleans
Bridge, but you will exit before the bridge.

• Take Lafayette/US Hwy. 90 exit (Exit 103) from I-10.
Follow US Hwy. 90 through Lafayette toward New
Iberia. At LA 14, exit and turn left. At LA 329 junction,
turn right. Stay on LA 329 until you reach Avery Island.
