The Soccer Player
Kelly has been playing soccer since she was in
elementary school. She is now in her last year of university
and she plays for her school's soccer team. She plans to be a
professional soccer player when she grows up. She wants to
play for the Sky Blue in New Jersey. Her parents wanted her
to do something more regular, like becoming a nurse or a
lawyer. Kelly did not listen to her parents.
Kelly and her teammates were playing a soccer game
one day. Kelly was running very fast down the soccer field
and her teammate passed her the ball. Then she crashed
into the defender on the other team and both players fell
down. Her teammates gathered around her. Kelly’s leg
looked funny because it was broken. An ambulance came
and took Kelly to the hospital. At the hospital the doctor
ordered and x-ray. The doctor looked at the x-ray and then
put a large heavy caste on Kelly’s leg. Kelly had to wear the
caste for three months. It was very itchy. She could not play
soccer and watched her
friends. After three
months the doctor took
the caste off and a few
months later Kelly was
able to play soccer again.
