Community Education Courses – Registration process
The steps outlined on pages 4 thru 9 will only apply the first time you register for not-for-credit classes. If you have attended COS previously
(taken a for-credit class), you already have a Banner ID and password. If you do not remember your ID and password, you can request this
information from Admissions and Records (according to privacy laws, Admission and Records is the only office on campus that can provide you
with this information).
Place your cursor over the class
you wish to take (that class will
now be highlighted in blue and
click on the “magnifying” symbol.

Review class information. If
correct, click “Add” to add the class
to your schedule.
If this is not the class you wish to
take, click “Close” and select a
different class.

Verify this is the class you wish to
take. Reminder: some classes are
offered more than once. Be sure
you have selected the correct date
for the class you wish to take.
If this is not the class you
wish to take, click the “X
Remove” button. Select
the correct class and follow
the remaining prompts.

If you do not have a COS student
account you will need to create an
account by clicking on “Create New
Account”.
These steps (pages 8 – 12) will only
need to be completed the first time
you register for a class.
Subsequent registrations will only
require you to enter your “User
Name and Password”.
If you already have a COS student
account (you’ve taken for-credit
classes and/or you’ve registered
online previously for not-for-credit
classes) you will enter your user
name and password and click “Sign
In”.
If you have a COS student account,
once you’ve entered in your “User
Name and Password” skip to page
10 and proceed from there.

You must complete all fields in the
“Account Details” Section indicated
with an asterisk. Don’t forget to
scroll down to see all of the
required fields.
Click the “I Agree with the
acceptable use policy”.
Enter the text in the blue box into
the “Please type the text you see in
the image” box.
Click “Submit”.

This “pop-up” box will show you
have successfully created your
account. Your Login ID and
password are indicated on this
pop-up window.
It is important for you to
write this information
down for future use.
Login ID: @00000000
Password: 010101
You will need this information to
register for future classes, as well
as if you need to cancel your
registration.
The “@” sign is required before the
eight digit number when entering
your Login ID for future classes.

You will now be asked to create a
security question. Click
“Continue”.

You may select a “pre-defined”
question or you may create a
“custom” question. You do not
have to answer both.
Be sure to note this information
for future reference.
Click “Continue”.
Click “Submit”.

You have successfully completed
the security question section. Click
“OK”.

You have completed the first time
registration process and are now
ready to pay for your class(es).
Click “Proceed to payment”.

Click “Proceed to payment” a
second time.

Click “Submit Payment”.

Click “Pay by Debit or Credit Card”.

Please complete the fields and click
“Continue”.
Once your credit card has been
accepted you can print a copy of
the “Final Invoice” (your
registration confirmation) and a
receipt for your payment. These
screens will appear once you have
completed the information at left.
