New board games by Zoch
Presented at International Toy Fair 2013
Some make a pact with the devil, while others dress the bride with cabbage. The spring program at Zoch has something for everyone. Cheeky
games for the whole family and for every party. “Auf Teufel komm raus“
is, as the name suggests, a risky game with heavy bets for players of ten
years and up. “Potato Man“ kicks off a new card game series in mini box
format. It is a convincing trick-taking game for up to five players of ten years
and up. “Brautkraut“ will add some excitement to any party, for up to six
players of ten years and up. “Vaca Loca“ with its colorful animal world is
an attractive reaction game for the whole family eight years and up. And for
the little ones there is “Mucca Pazza“ with its crazy animals. “Ritter Rost“
is already in stores. This is the first game to a movie issued by Zoch: Noris
Spiele has the license for the Ritter Rost figure and is bringing memos, card
games and puzzles to the stores, Zoch the board games. The movie was
launched in cinemas on 10 January 2013. The popular card game for two
to seven players of seven years and up.
Auf Teufel komm raus – a family game
Who will make a pact with Beelzebub?
Gamblers beware! Enticing offers tempt players to place heavy bets. But
you have to make clever bets to avoid crossing the devil’s path. “Auf Teufel
komm raus“ is the name of a new family game for gamblers from Zoch.
Only those who bet carefully will manage to avoid the devil. 48 pieces of
coal are waiting to be pulled out of the fire, but there are nine Beelzebubs
hidden in between these. Only players who bet on the correct quantity of
coal pulled out can have their stakes doubled or even tripled by the bank.
Whoever places too high a bet or stakes too much and is snatched by the
enticer from Hell will be forced to make a pact with him some time. The
winner is the player who manages to multiply their start-up capital and outclass all other players.
“Auf Teufel kommt raus“ is a family-friendly gambling den for up to six players ten years and up. And the surname of the author duo – mother and
daughter – what else could it be, is Angel.

Brautkraut – a party game for german speaking countries
Blaukraut bleibt Blaukraut – in the lilac can
This game based on the German tongue twister or tongue breaker as they
are so aptly called in German: “Blaukraut bleibt Blaukraut und Brautkleid
bleibt Brautkleid“ which translates to “Red cabbage remains red cabbage
and wedding dress remains wedding dress“. It is a real language challenge.
“Brautkraut“ carries this word game to extremes. For eloquent players the
new party and family game by Zoch will bring hours of playing fun and
laughter. The words are used to create new and imaginative combinations
and to play wonderful word games!
Already on the shelf “Brautkraut“ will catch your eye. The game for players
of ten years and up comes in a can. Candy or cabbage? It’s hard to imagine what the can contains. Out pop cards each of which shows two of the
four motifs: cabbage, bride, blue and dress – in different colors. The player
whose turn it is says what they see on the card lying on top, then what the
card turned over reveals, and goes on to make plays on words. The word
combinations reveal who is the language genius with players also replacing
the verbs by others with similar sounds. The winner is the player who can
master all tongue twisters brilliantly.
The interactive party and family game “Brautkraut“ by Zoch is a challenge
for language artists who wish to show off their skills and will enrich any party. The lilac can promises pure fun for up to six players aged ten and up.

Potato Man
How did that go again? “The dumbest farmer...“
There is an old German saying “The dumbest farmers harvest the fattest
potatoes“. “Potato Man“, the super hero in the new game by Zoch, proves
that this is not true. He moves out onto the playing field to help even the
smallest tuber win.
“Potato Man“ is a quick trick-taking game – no time to nod off here. There
are four types of potatoes in four different colors and sizes in the game. As
always, the general rule is that the highest card beats the others, but Potato
Man can help lower valued potatoes to victory: the smaller the potato the
more valuable sacks are filled. The player with the most bulging potato
sacks at the end wins the game.
The amusing illustration and the unconventional flow of the game created
by Günter Burkhardt and Wolfgang Lehmann will bring the whole family to

Mucca Pazza
Animals from the planet Cowpiter
Entirely new animal species are now to be found on Earth. They come from
the planet Cowpiter. Mucca Pazza, the crazy cow, has turned the animals
into comic beings – heads, bodies and legs are all mixed up and need to be
reassembled correctly.
The animals look quite graceful yet flamboyant: giraffes, cats and dogs.
Depending on their ages children play with five or ten animals, which are all
mixed up in the sliding rails. Each player in turn tries to shift the appropriate
cards in up to three moves to create a correctly assembled animal. The
winner is the player who has managed to put together the most animals at
the end.
The children’s game “Mucca Pazza“ with its extensive material – 30 sliding
boards, 30 animal cards, a ghost card, 12 wooden stars, a stable game
board – and original sliding mechanism, will convince not only the youngest
players aged 4 and up. As so often with Zoch, parents will also enjoy the
fantasy of the game publisher and of their children.

Win the lance tournament with Ritter Rost
The game to the movie now in stores
For the first time the Munich game publisher Zoch has published a game to
a movie. The lovable figure of Ritter Rost makes him a natural choice for a
Zoch board game for the whole family. The clumsy knight faces three dangerous adventures: He has to succeed in the lance tournament held by
King Bleifuss, conquer a dragon and overcome the crafty and powerful
Prince Protz, who is keeping Burgfräulein Bö a prisoner. If he can’t manage
on his own he can rely on the help of Bö and his friend the dragon Koks in
this great adventure.

Author Klaus Zoch has immersed himself fully in the movie, designing exciting dicing duels with successful, endlessly playable dice and unsuccessful
dice which land on their sides. Even the cards are played according to very
special rules: each player passes on their own pile of cards and the lowest
card trumps the highest, for example.
With Ritter Rost spectators and players become immersed in a world in
which toasters rush into battle, small spanners make great things happen
and fearless heroes must show what metal they are made of. The first book
was published in 1994. This was followed by audio books and musicals.
The family game is available in stores for approx. EUR 30.
