PURE WASTE TEXTILES: CASE INSTRUCTIONS
Instructions: The central idea of this assignment is for you to apply the knowledge
and understanding accrued during the course by applying it to the practical case
exercise done for Pure Waste textiles -company, and creating a convincing exposition
of your campaign. This assignment is done in pairs. The assignment broadly follows
the Young Lion Competition format (see https://ylf.fi for more information and
benchmarks). We will give you a brief containing information about Pure Waste and
textile industry; your task is then to develop an innovative campaign for developing a
market for post consumer waste.
You will provide two separate documents:
1. Presentation in pecha kucha style (see http://www.pechakucha.org for instructions
on how to design a pecha kucha style presentation)
2. Written report reflecting on the theory used at class
Presentation
Each group will provide a presentation that will be presented to Pure Waste textiles in
pecha kucha style. Since you only have little less than 7 minutes to present your
campaign, be brief and focus on the your key message to convince the jury on your
idea.
Post the presentation to MyCourses before the due date on Thursday, May 18th at
9am. MyCourses automatically disallows late submissions.
Written report
Familiarize yourself with the Pure Waste/the textile industry background material.
Write a detailed report on the campaign. This report should be more theoretical than
the presentation and use the course readings to back up your market research for the
campaign. We expect you to:
1. Reflect on the course readings
2. Illustrate your backup market research
3. Be consistent and clear in arguing why you think your campaign would be
beneficial for advancing the market for post consumer textiles
Format your paper according to these guidelines:
a. Minimum length 8 pages (maximum 10 pages).
b. Use 12 pt. Times New Roman font.
c. Use 1.5 line spacing.
d. Leave one inch (or 2.5 cm) side, top and bottom margins.
e. Put your name, the date in the header
