Within the school day we will also be celebrating a final Mass for Christmas in School, Carols around the
tree and of course party day for the children which will take place on Thursday 17th December before we
close for the Christmas holidays on Friday 18th December.
Mrs McGhee
Sadly, we will be saying goodbye to Mrs McGhee this Christmas as she leaves our school to pursue another
passion in her life besides teaching. Many of you will know that Mrs McGhee has worked in our school for
over 15 years since September 2000 and during this time she has taught classes in both Key Stage 1 and
Key Stage 2. Alongside her teaching responsibilities, she has coordinated Inclusion and Special Educational
Needs in our school working with the Local Authority and many pupils and families. Although, it is always
very sad to say goodbye to such a long standing member of our school community we equally recognise
that Mrs McGhee has now chosen to pursue a change of career and I hope you will join me and all those in
school in offering our thanks and gratitude for all that she has given so selflessly, working tirelessly for our
school and in wishing her continued success and happiness in this next stage of her life journey.

Bishop Konstant Catholic Academy Trust

For parents with pupils in Mrs McGhee’s class I am delighted to inform you that Mrs Marie Curzon has been
appointed to teach in her place until July. Mrs Curzon came highly recommended through the BKCAT and
we look forward to welcoming her to our school community in the near future
Walking into Christmas
On Tuesday this week we opened our Christmas garden in Key Stage 2 where we get a chance to literally,
‘Walk into Christmas’. The first garden has been designed for us all to experience the light, magic and
wonder of the season through Fr Christmas, the reindeer, snowmen etc. all of which add to the enjoyment
of the season. However, as you venture further into the light and the garden beyond you will be reminded
of ‘the reason for the season’ with our new stable and nativity figures to create the scene of Christ’s birth
in Bethlehem. If you’ve not yet had a chance to visit it is open daily from 3.10-3.45 and can be accessed
through the year 3/4 playground- Simply follow the light!
Attendance Winners
Congratulations to Mrs Nolan’s class for the second week in Key Stage 1 who achieved 97% attendance
this week and Miss Maley’s and Miss Workman’s class in Key Stage 2 who both achieved 100% attendance
this week.
Just to remind everyone that school opens at 8.50 with the day beginning at 8.55. Mr Lyons opens the
school gates at 8.30 but please be aware that we encourage parents/carers of our youngest learners to
remain with the children until the doors open.
Top Table Congratulations
Mrs Nolan had the very great pleasure of welcoming 11 children to join her for lunch at the top table last
Friday. They again enjoyed some special treats that Mrs Thompson was able to provide us with. It’s great
to be able to; recognise, praise and reward the children for their excellent behaviour and contribution to
learning.
