How does OptiShot work?
True simulation uses highly scientific methods to capture impact data. Sixteen advanced optical sensors
accurately measure your club through the impact zone capturing shot impact conditions and
instantaneously transmitting them through the USB cable to the software. OptiShot does not measure
ball flight. OptiShot software is customizable and users may save their club sets and shot characteristics
within the software to fine tune the results of their swing.
OptiShot has been expertly tested with accurate performance standards including:
•
•
•
Club-head speed - +/- 2.0 mph
Face angle - +/- 1.5 degrees
Swing path - +/- 1.9 degrees

OptiShot FAQ’s
Q: Is OptiShot durable?
A: Yes. We have optimized the base unit to take a beating.
Q: Can I use an official golf ball, or just the foam practice ball?
A: You can use real golf balls, foam practice balls, or no ball at all when using the simulator. The
different types of golf balls have a small impact on the calculation of the club head speed but we
account for that via a ball type selection made through the OptiShot software.
Q: Can I use my own clubs?
A: You can truly use your whole bag with OptiShot (from Driver to Putter).
Q: How does putting work?
A: OptiShot allows you to putt the same way you would on the course and features an autoputt option allowing you to focus on your irons and woods. OptiShot also features a green speed
control and color-coded putting.
Q: Can I use OptiShot outside and what about lighting?
A: No. OptiShot is designed to be used inside and must have the proper lighting conditions for
its infrared sensors to function accurately.
Q: How much room do I need to us OptiShot?
A: You need to be able to safely swing a golf club. All that depends on your height, the
steepness of your swing and the length of the golf club. In order to setup a practice area where
you can take full swings into a net with your longest clubs and have the best experience, we
recommend a 10' x 10' area with 8.5' ceilings.
Q: Do I need to use my TV?
A: The computer screen is all that is needed. However, you can hook up your computer to your
television or projector to provide a larger screen of golf action. Most computers have an S-Video
output that you can plug right into your TV. Many televisions have a VGA or HDMI input that you
can plug in from the computer.
