Salary: £49,976 - £59,264 (dependant on experience)
Core Purpose
King Solomon International Business School (King Solomon) is a faith designated Christian school committed to
academic excellence and character development. You are required to consistently and relentlessly implement the
vision and ethos of the school.
As King Solomon is a new and growing school, all staff are expected to be flexible and versatile and therefore be
required to undertake other roles as required. Roles will be reviewed on an annual basis. This job description is
therefore not intended to be exhaustive and is a general outline of the typical duties and responsibilities expected
to be carried out in your substantive role; this may change at the discretion of the Principal and Governors.
The Head of Primary School is to:

Effectively lead and manage the Primary School.

Drive and embed the school’s vision and distinctive Christian ethos.

Work closely with all members of the senior leadership team to ensure that all pupils achieve academic
excellence and develop exemplary characters.

Model the characteristics the school seeks to develop in the pupils.

Provide effective, dynamic and inspirational leadership to the Primary school to ensure that every student
achieves at their highest level.

Ensure a love of learning and the achievement of excellent educational standards.



Provide strategic direction and resource management

Promote and safeguard the welfare of all pupils and staff.

Work with the Principal to implement the vision for the school and ensure this vision is clearly and
effectively articulated, shared and understood by staff as well as students in the Primary school.

The Head of Primary School will:

Develop, motivate and lead all Primary school staff to achieve the highest professional standards.
Build a collaborative learning culture within the School and actively engage with other schools (locally,
nationally and internationally) to promote excellence, equality and high expectations of all pupils.
Manage change effectively.
Manage the School finances effectively working closely with the Principal and the Chief Finance officer.
Ensure job descriptions and performance management for staff are based on clear roles and responsibilities
and are reviewed at least annually.
Contribute to the development of policies and ensure all polices are implemented in the Primary school.
Manage your own personal professional development whilst ensuring a good work/life balance for the staff.
Ensure that all responsibilities delegated by the Principal and Governors are carried out.
Be a member of the Governing bodies sub-committees
Undertake other such duties as may be reasonably expected
Effective and Efficient use of Resources
The Head of Primary School will:

Plan, manage and monitor the Primary curriculum within the agreed budget, setting appropriate priorities for
expenditure, allocating funds and ensuring effective administration control.
Ensure the regular monitoring of the budget.
Ensure that the allocation and use of accommodation provides a positive learning environment that promotes the
highest achievements for all.
Teaching, Learning, Curriculum and Standards
The Head of Primary School will:

Take an active-role in the design and implementation of a curriculum, which inspires and engages all pupils.
Ensure a consistent and continuous focus on pupil assessment and achievement, using appropriate data and
benchmarks to set, monitor, track and evaluate individual pupil progress.
Challenge and remedy under-performance in the Primary school.
Provide nurturing and attentive pastoral care for all pupils.
Ensure exemplary standards of behaviour and attendance.
Monitor, evaluate and review classroom practice and promote improvement strategies
Aim for outstanding standards of learning and teaching at all times.
Contribute to King Solomon’s’ aim for outstanding ratings as judged by Ofsted and Section 48 inspections.

The Head of Primary School will:

Collate and analyse performance data to promote Primary school improvement.
Contribute to ensuring smooth transitions and continuity of learning with feeder nurseries, the primary school, the
secondary school and the sixth form.
Regularly and effectively communicate the progress of every child’s learning to the relevant stakeholders.
Work with the Principal to provide information on all relevant aspects of the School, its progress and intended
development.
Value the pupils voice and create opportunities for the pupil voice to be heard
Be required to safeguard and promote the welfare pupils at the school and to abide by the schools safeguarding
policies and procedures and give the highest priority to following guidance and regulations to safeguard children and
young people. You will be required to have a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau
(DBS.)
