Leadership Workshop: Held in Kuala Lumpur on 20-21
October. 50 participants from SEA Sections including
7(Indonesia), 3(Thailand), 8(Singapore), 3(Philippines),
1(Vietnum) and rest(Malaysia). Conducted by
representatives from IEEE Conference Business and Services
(a mini POCO) and a guest speaker.
Distinguished Lecture Programs: 3 programs held
(Australia, Bangladesh and China).
TENCONs: Venue for TENCON Spring 2013 selected
(Sydney, 10-12 April 2013). Call for proposals for TENCON
2014 and TENCON Spring 2014 issued.
Technical Seminars: Held in conjunction with 2012 R10 Excom
Meet (Colombo) and 2012 R10 Annual Meeting (Kolkata).

o To act as an interface between Region 10 and MGA/TA/IEEE
Conference Operations for issues related to technical
activities in R10.

Proposed 2013 Projects and Activities (1)
1. TENCON and TENSYMP(TENCON Spring):
o 2013 TENCON Spring (17-19 April, Sydney, Australia) to
be hosted by NSW Section
o 2013 TENCON (22-25 October, Xi’an, China) to be hosted
by Xi’an Section
o Selection of host section for 2014 TENCON (Thailand
Section was selected in February 2013)
o Selection of host section for 2014 TENSYMP (Extended
deadline for proposals: 31 March 2013)
o Selection of host section for 2015 TENCON (Call for
proposals to be issued by end of April)
o Selection of host section for 2015 TENSYMP (Call for
proposals to be issued by end of July)

2. Technical Seminars in R10:
o R10 supports technical seminars to be held in R10
Sections by partially funding them.
o Call for applications for the fund is to be issued by the end
of March.
3. R10 DLP (Distinguished Lecture Program):
o R10 will promote DLP activities in R10 by partially funding
lectures given by IEEE Distinguished Lecturers and IEEE
Fellows.
o Call for applications for the funds for the DLP is to be
issued by the end of March.

4. R10 Seminar held in conjunction with R10
Excom Meeting and R10 Annual Meeting
o R10 held a R10 Seminar in conjunction with the R10 Annual
General Meeting in March with the support of Thailand
Section. The main purposes of the R10 Seminar are to
promote IEEE activities in the local area by introducing IEEE
activities and giving technical lectures.
5. R10 Conference Leadership Training Program:
o This program is to enhance the quality of technical
conferences to be held in R10.
o This is a 1-1.5 day training session for organizers of already
planned and future conference.
o R10 is planning to hold one program in R10 in 2013.
