Motion to approve ENGL 3250 and ENGL 3270 on second reading made and
approved unanimously.
Minutes from the December 10th, 2015 meeting were approved.
EECE
a. Change to program
i. EDUC 3302 was split into two one-hour classes (EDUC 3303 and
3304) but was not successful. The proposal is to reinstate EDUC
3302 and discontinue 3303 and 3304.
ii. The ECE program went to 128 hours and was dropped off the BOR
waiver list of those programs allowed to exceed the number of
program credit hours. ECE will have to get back on the list. The
change must be approved on campus before it goes to the BOR.
iii. Motion to approve and seconded on first reading made and
approved unanimously.
b. Change to EDUC 3302
i. Remove the co-requisites
ii. Motion to approve was made and seconded on the first reading
made and approved unanimously.
c. Change to ECE 4403
i. Change to pre-requisites, remove 4635 and keep admission to
teacher education.
ii. Question about course description: It is unclear. Also, the corequisites and justification for the changes are also unclear.

d. ECE 7511
i. Change to title and description (removing “social studies and
language arts”)
ii. Question on course description: Insufficient indication of the
purpose and objectives of the course.
iii. Motion to approve on first reading with changes to course
description as amended was seconded and approved unanimously.
e. ECE 7531
i. Change to course description and title (removing “social studies and
language arts”)
ii. Motion to approve was made and seconded on first reading with
changes to course description as amended was seconded and
approved unanimously.
iii. Motion was made and seconded to waive second reading since
changes were not substantive. Motion was approved unanimously.
f. ECE 7543
i. Changes to title, description, and pre-requisites.
ii. Motion to approve was made and seconded to approve on first
reading. The motion passed unanimously.
iii. Motion was made and seconded to waive second reading. Motion
was approved unanimously.
g. ECE 7514
i. Changes to title and description
ii. Motion to approve was made and seconded to approve on first
reading. The motion passed unanimously.

i. Change to pre-requisites, removing admission to teacher education
so that they can take it before they enter the program, which will
facilitate progression through the program.
ii. Motion to approve was made and seconded to approve on first
reading. The motion passed unanimously.
iii. Motion was made and seconded to waive second reading. Motion
was approved unanimously.
Discussion regarding the scope of the TEC:
a. Noted that proposals that come to the committee are reviewed for
correlation with CAEP standards. Is this the job of the committee?

b. It was brought up that at this time, the committee should possibly just
address the proposed changes but that TEC should adopt an intention toward
exploring processes for complete program reviews after an identified
amount of time to ensure compliance.
c. These points are well taken, but Dr. Bessett and Dr. Williams will continue to
push for all students.

b. As soon as possible, apply Dr. Bessett’s suggestion to revise preamble about
BED, CHED, PHED degree tracks serving the full range of diversity among
adolescent learners
