Football Stanthorpe Player Age Policy 2017 1. Players must be turning five (5) by the end of the calendar year in which they wish to register. 2. Players must register and play in their designated age group as determined by date of birth unless the Club has insufficient players in the specified team. In those circumstances the following applies: a. Men’s Competition i. Male Only Players to be eligible to play in this division shall be turning eighteen (18) or over this calendar year. ii. If the Club has insufficient players in their Men’s team, they may include Senior Colt players. iii. To be eligible, Male Senior Colt players MUST be turning sixteen (16) in the calendar year. iv. Male Players turning fifteen (15) in this calendar year may complete the Football Qld “REQUEST TO PLAY OUTSIDE OF ELIGIBLE AGE” form as per the Football Qld website, and once completed and accepted by Football Stanthorpe may play up in the Men’s Competition until such time the team has sufficient eligible players. v. Please note: Clubs, coaches and parents are responsible for the decision and assessment to allow players to play up against potentially older, physically stronger faster opponents. Football Stanthorpe has not assessed the player and will not be held responsible if a player is injured. b. Ladies Competition i. Female Only Players to be eligible to play in this division shall be turning fifteen (15) or over this calendar year ii. If the Club has insufficient players in their Ladies team, they may include Fillies or Female Junior Colt players. iii. To be eligible, Fillies or Female Junior Colt players MUST be turning fourteen (14) in the calendar year. c. Senior Colts Competition i. Male Players to be eligible to play in this division shall be turning fifteen (15) or over this calendar year. ii. Female Players to be eligible to play in this division shall be turning sixteen (16) or over this calendar year. iii. Male and Female Players turning eighteen (18) in this calendar year MUST play in the Ladies or Men’s competition iv. If the Club has insufficient players in their Senior Colts team, they may include Junior Colt players. v. To be eligible, Male Junior Colt players MUST be turning fourteen (14) in the calendar year. vi. Male Only Players turning thirteen (13) in this calendar year may complete the Football Qld “REQUEST TO PLAY OUTSIDE OF ELIGIBLE AGE” form as per the Football Qld website 29/03/2016, and once completed and accepted by Football Stanthorpe may play up in the Senior Colts Competition until such time the team has sufficient eligible players. vii. Please note: Clubs, coaches and parents are responsible for the decision and assessment to allow players to play up against potentially older, physically stronger faster opponents. Football Stanthorpe has 1 not assessed the player and will not be held responsible if a player is injured. d. Junior Colts Competition i. Male and Female Players to be eligible to play in this division shall be turning twelve (12) or over this calendar year. ii. Male Players turning fifteen (15) in this calendar year MUST play in the Senior Colts competition. iii. Female Players turning sixteen (16) in this calendar year MUST play in the Senior Colts or Ladies competition. iv. If the Club has insufficient players in their Junior Colts team, they may include eligible Junior players. v. To be eligible, Junior players MUST be turning eleven (11) in the calendar year. e. Fillies Competition i. Female Players to be eligible to play in this division shall be turning twelve (12) or over this calendar year. ii. Players turning fifteen (15) in this calendar year MUST play in the Junior Colts or Ladies competition iii. If the Club has insufficient players in their Fillies team, they may include eligible female Junior players. iv. To be eligible, female Junior players MUST be turning eleven (11) in the calendar year. f. MiniRoos (Under 6 to Under 11) i. If the Club has insufficient players of the specified age for a team. In that circumstance, younger players from one year immediately below the age group may be included to field a team 3. Players who are suited to a lower age group due to their physical and/or social sense. In this circumstance a written application accompanied by supporting medical or educational evidence should be considered by the club with approval Football Stanthorpe. 4. Clubs, coaches and parents are responsible for the decision and assessment to allow players to play up against potentially older, physically stronger faster opponents. Football Stanthorpe has not assessed the player and will not be held responsible if a player is injured. 2
