Invasion Games in PE
In P.E Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 have been learning how to pass and dribble the ball using footballs,
tennis balls and hockey sticks. They have been practicing hockey and football in their pairs
to improve their skills and learn new and different kinds of techniques. They have also been
doing invasion and how to invade other people’s space during a game. They really enjoy
doing this as they have learnt loads of different things and have got better in hockey and
football. Now they can use these skills they have been learning in P.E when they play games
or even go to tournaments or festivals.

Gifted and Talented Handball Festival
On the 1st of March children from St Marys Academy in
Year 3 went to Cleethorpes Leisure Centre with Gravity
Red. These children were Lexi, Baylee, Riley, Cole, Oliwia
and Karolina as they did really well when they went to
the handball festival with their class. They were picked
for gifted and talented handball and they represented
the school brilliantly. Here are some quotes from the
children who went, what they got up to and what they
thought. “I liked that it was boys vs boys and girls vs
girls,” said Cole. Lexi said, “I liked that we had to pass and
move around!” and Oliwia said, “ I liked that I played
handball, it’s different to what we play in school.”
