Our primary aim as a school for the use of pupil premium funding was to raise attainment, increase
levels and to narrow the gap between those of their peers. The data shows Pupil Premium and whole
school from April 2014 to April 2015. A proportion of the money was spent on alternative provision
for a Pupil Premium child.

The above data shows pupil premium v whole school. The average point’s progress for full year
attenders shows 0.8 difference between the two cohorts. The average points progress for part
attenders is 0.7 this shows a gap of less than 1 points progress.
Past year on year trends show that pupils that join us throughout the year make accelerated
progress in the first two terms. Our rigorous baseline assessments on entry allow pupils to be taught
and work differentiated at the right level allowing pupils capabilities to make good progress.

The above table shows specific cohorts within school the amount of pupils within some of these
cohorts is low and therefore it is difficult to be able to make a valid judgement/comparison.
The SEBD cohort is our largest cohort of pupils within school. The difference between the full time
pupils is less than 1 points of progress. The gap between part time pupils is slightly bigger and this is
something we will focus on as a school. Pupil premium pupils within the SLD and ASD groups are
achieving in comparison or better than those of their peers however the amount of pupils in that
cohort is low.
SLD pupils progress is lower however the needs of these pupils is so vast that it takes a long time
for these pupils to achieve the such. These pupils have made lots of progress in other areas such as
social skills.

The average progress as a whole school between PP and non PP are similar over
the year. Figures are affected by pupils who have started Woodlands School at
different times over the year [indicated by the title ‘part’]. Without those pupils, Non
PP pupils would have achieved more than PP pupils. Pupils joining throughout the
year have been difficult to assess accurately initially, with either exaggerated levels
from previous schools or low level initial levels recorded on entry to Woodlands
followed by a larger than average rise as they settle into school.
