FA Licensed Girls Player Development Centre
Season 2013/14
WCFA have been granted a FA License to deliver a Girls Player Development Centre (PDC)
for the season 2013/14.
The 2013/14 season will see PDC enter its 3rd year of delivery with over 20 girls now part of
an FA Centre of Excellence programme. This season PDC will see age groups delivered at
U11, U13, U15 and U17 and is open to all girls that currently participate in grassroots
football.
The PDC sits within the FA Female Talent Pathway and offers the chance for girls to progress
into an FA Centre of Excellence.
What can players expect to receive at the WCFA Player Development Centre?
The PDC will provide extra training and support on top of your grassroots club. Every player
will be able to continue to play for their local grassroots club, whilst receiving one extra
night of training and support from FA coaches who are licensed and hold age appropriate
qualifications such as FA Youth Awards 1, 2 & 3.
The PDC will run over a 20 week duration throughout the season, it will commence in
September and will incorporate four fixtures against other FA Player Development Centres.
How do players gain entry into the PDC?
Players gain access to the PDC through open trials which will take place on the following
date:
Monday 16 September @Marlborough College, Bath Road, Marlborough, SN8 1PA
U11s & U13s- 5.30-6.30pm
U15s & U17s- 6.30-7.30pm
All Players need to wear appropriate clothing, shin pads. Football boots are not to be worn
as then trials are taking place on Astroturf.
