U3, “C” Position –
Anytime there is a runner at 1B.
U3, “D” Positions –
No runners. Anytime there is
NOT a runner at 1B.

Anytime there is NOT a runner at
1B and a runner at 2B.
U1, “A” Position –
A
Anytime there is a runner at 1B.
If a BU goes out, he stays out. Revert back to 2-Umpire Mechanics.
U1 only goes out if in “A” position and U3 only goes out if in “D” position.
U1 or U3 never goes out from the B or C position.
Situation:
No runners, base hit.
