TOURNAMENT PREVIEW – TOP 20 TRIO FERRER, ALMAGRO & WAWRINKA HIGHLIGHT FIELD
 The Spanish duo of World No. 4 David Ferrer and World No. 11 Nicolas Almagro are the top two
seeds in the Copa Claro, the third clay court tournament of the season on the ATP World Tour. Ferrer,
who is the defending champion, is playing his first clay court tournament of the season and Almagro,
who won in 2011, lost last week in the quarter-finals in Sao Paulo (l. to Nalbandian).

The other seeds are: World No. 17 and No. 3 Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland a two-time semifinals here (2011-12) playing his first clay court tournament of the year, No 4 Thomaz Bellucci of
Brazil, and No. 5 Horacio Zeballos, who defeated Rafael Nadal at Vina del Mar two weeks ago for his
first career ATP World Tour title. The final three seeds are No. 6 Fabio Fognini of Italy and Spaniards
No. 7 Pablo Andujar and No. 8 Albert Ramos.

On Monday, there are four final round qualifying matches and five main draw singles matches. In the
second match on Estadio Central, Portugal’s Joao Sousa takes on Argentinian wild card Federico
Delbonis for the first time. Sousa best result this year was reaching the second round at Australian
Open (l. to Murray) and is making his tournament debut. Following is another first time meeting
between No. 4 seed Thomaz Bellucci of Brazil and Argentinian wild card Diego Sebastian
Schwartzman. Bellucci lost in the second round at Auckland (l. to Lukas) and Sao Paulo (l. to Volandri)
and has a career tournament record of 1-2. Schwartzman is playing in the main draw for the first time.

The first match of the evening features Aljaz Bedene of Slovenia taking on Horacio Zeballos of
Argentina for the first the first time. Bedene is playing here for the first time and in his first clay court
match of the year. He opened 2013 by reaching his first career ATP World Tour semi-final in Chennai (l.
to Tipsarevic). Zeballos is playing here for the fourth time (3-3), with his best result the quarter-finals in
2010 (l. to Monaco). The last match is another first-time meeting between Argentine Guido Pella and
Nicolas Almagro. Pella is playing here for the first time, he failed to qualify four times (2007, ’09, ’10
and ’12). Almagro is among the Top 10 clay court match wins leaders among active players at No. 3
with 207-98 record and is playing here for the eight time (16-6 record).

On Estadio 2, Albert Ramos faces Flavio Cipolla of Italy for the first time. Ramos reached the quarterfinals at Vina del Mar (l. to Zeballos), last week lost in second-round at Sao Paulo (l. to Berlocq). Cipolla
is playing here for the first time, failed to qualify in 2010.
