PROGRAM GUIDELINES
FOR STUDENTS & PARENTS
Each student is asked to read four books at a grade level designated by their
teacher. As each book is read, the teacher will mark each base on the bookmark
until the student reaches home plate. Kindergarten students may participate by
HAVING their teachers reading four books to them.
After A STUDENT READS four books AND ALL BASES HAVE BEEN MARKED OFF, their bookmark CAN BE USED AS a voucher for one of the designated “Hit the Books“ Nights at the
ballpark.
The Harrisburg Senators will give 1 Free ticket to each student who completes the
program. The students can bring their bookmarks to the Box Office the day of the
designated game to redeem their ticket.
The bookmark will also grant the students access to a pre-game ceremony on the
field.
Bookmarks will be valid only on the nights designated by the Harrisburg Senators.
GAME DATES AND TIMES WILL BE INDICATED ON THE 2016 BOOKMARK.

may change the criteria for each base depending on your class). AFTER each book is read, the
teacher will mark each base on the bookmark until the student reaches home plate.

We just ask that the program is completed by April 14th.
You may participate in the program in 2 ways: School Visit & Bookmarks or Bookmarks only
School Visit and Bookmarks *Based on availability

Schools receive bookmarks for all students and can request a visit from rascal

Rascal does not speak but communicates via pantomimes and his assistants interpretation

Private and secure changing area must be provided for Mascot
Bookmarks Only

Schools receive Book marks for all students
Please ensure that the school name is on the front of the bookmark and that all four bases
are initialed. Thank you!

DRAWING CONTEST
1. All students are eligible to participate.
2. Students must color inside the box only.
3. One drawing will be chosen as the official bookmark of
the 2016 HARRISBURG SENATORS “Hit the Books“ Reading
Program.
4. Winner will receive recognition on all bookmarks,
and a prize package.
5. All entries must be turned into the student“s teacher
no later than December 18th, 2016.
6. Artwork will not be returned to the student.
7. Winners will be notified after January 31, 2015.
8. Please allow students to create original artwork
independently.
