Holroyd Hotshots Grading Procedures The grading of players and teams is conducted fairly based on a player’s ability, skill level and attitude. Grading is influenced by the number and ages of players registered with Hotshots with the aim of achieving teams that have a balanced group of players both in ability levels and playing positions. Our Junior Inter teams are graded according to level of ability for the PANA Junior and Inter junior competition. Similarly, Senior players are also graded into specific Divisions based on ability. A player may be selected for an older age team if considered necessary due to numbers by the grading committee and after discussion with the player and player’s parent/guardian. NetSetGO program! (5 to 7 years): no grading required. NetSetGO modified games (8 to 9 years): may be required to be graded depending on numbers, otherwise they will form teams in their specific age group. Players will be placed in teams with their friends where possible . These requests must be received at the time of registration and will only be accommodated if numbers permit. 10 yrs to 15 yrs: Players will be graded into teams as per the PANA Junior Inter competition according to their ability. This will ensure that players are playing at an appropriate skill level. Senior Players, 16yrs+: Players will be graded into teams as per the PANA Senior competition according to their ability. Hotshots will consider requests for team registrations, however these teams are expected to follow and carry out the Club duties as directed from time to time. Team announcement Ideally, eight (8) will be selected per team however, due to numbers, some teams may have nine (9) players. Teams will be announced at the Hotshots Information Night and via our website. Grading Criteria: When assessing the overall skill of a player, the Grading panel will take into account: Ball Handling Footwork Positional Skills Sportsmanship Attitude Grading Panel: A grading panel of up to 3 will be formed each year. This will be determined by the Coaching Convenor, drawn from current Hotshots members holding appropriate coaching and/or selecting accreditation. 1 Version 1 - January 2016
