Prize winner from the last newsletter
Tracey Agnew one of our Tenants from Eshwin
Hall was the lucky winner of the prize draw
from the autumn AHS newsletter. In the
picture below Tracey is seen receiving her prize
from Nicola Gillard. Tracey was very excited to
win this competition and plans to spend her ten
pounds on a new shopping trolley to help get
her groceries home when she does her food
shopping.
Stay Safe this Winter
Read the following advice to make sure you’re
as fit and healthy as possible this winter:
 If you have a long-term health
condition or respiratory problem
remember to get your flu injection.
 If you are over 60, or have a long-term
health condition such as diabetes and
don’t receive the flu vaccine, ask your
nurse or GP for it and protect yourself.
 Practice good hand hygiene. We’ve all
seen the ads – CATCH IT, BIN IT, KILL IT
– and this advice is highly effective.
 It’s always a good idea to carry hand
gel or sanitiser when you are out and
about.
 If you do become ill, keep your fluid
levels up, and make an appointment to
see your GP.
 Wear a number of thin layers of
clothes to keep warm, drink plenty of
warm fluids and eat regularly.
 Try and keep as active as possible and
always let someone know if you don’t
feel well.
 Always let someone know if you
are concerned about your health
or if you have an underlying health
problem which could make the
effects of flu worse for you,
contact a friend or carer, a nurse
or your GP. Remember that flu can
be serious for some people so it is
unwise to take any chances.
 Keep your central heating on low
to keep a constant temperature
and prevent your boiler and pipes
freezing.
 Ensure you have sufficient food
supplies in case the weather
becomes bad and you are unable
to get out to the shops.
