Holds full differential pressure from above and below
(plug).

Inspect slips, packing element for cuts,
cracks, or shipping damage. Do not run
the tool if damage is noticed.
•
Confirm the tool is in the correct weight
range for the well casing the tool will be
run in.
•
Inspect dimensions on plug such as
outside diameter (OD) of the tool.
•
Verify the correct number of shear pins
and holes are present for accurate shear
during the setting of the tool.
Align the mandrel to the plug
Insert the pins, tap them till they are flush with mandrel
Check the treads on the setting tool
Make up Sleeve to setting equipment
•
Tighten up plug hand tight, do not
tighten with pipe wrench. (Over
tightening can cause element to expand)
•
Make sure to check equipment again for
any damage and to make sure all
equipment is tight
•
After picking tool up in the air make sure plug
is not damaged.
•
The use of equipment contrary to
manufacturer’s specification may result in a
tool failure, or complications.
•
Do not support the weight of the tool string by
the plug.
•
Protect the tool from damage during pick-up
and installation in the lubricator/wellhead.
•
Slow down when entering the top of the liner.
•
If the fluid level is not known, run the tool in
slowly until it is known that the tool is in the
fluid.
•
Once out of the well, loosen the sleeve
and back it up till you match the holes
together. Turn the sleeve and mandrel
together to remove.
•
Once removed you will use a punch to
remove the sheared pins from the
mandrel
