Potential Requirements for WIS Part C
 Resolution 30 (Cg-17)
 Guidance on:
 best practice in the collection or creation and documentation of information
 managing storage of information, exchanging/sharing information
 use of the information to deliver benefits from it.
 long-term preservation (archiving) of information.
 disposing of information that is no longer required.
 Auditable standards relevant to information management to be applied by data
centres managing information on behalf of WMO Programmes
 where these would enhance the ability of Members to derive benefit from
information.
 Provide arrangements for long-term retention of information to meet the future
needs of WMO Programmes.
 Provide assistance to Members in matters concerning all stages of management
of information.

 Replace the “Guide on World Weather Watch Data Management (WMO
No. 788)” with a guide that covers all WMO programmes.
 Propose updates to incorporate standards and practices for information
management under WIS Part C
