EBL Download Instructions

Note: When you click the DOWNLOAD button on the EBL page, your book will be sent
directly to Bluefire. When the loan expires, the book will display in your "Library," but all
pages will be blacked out. You will need to find the book via a web browser, borrow it
and download it again if you would like to continue. *The default checkout period is 24
hours. Printing is restricted to 20% of each ebook, and copying 5%.*
Android and Apple
1. Create an Adobe account (if you don't
have one already)
2. Install the Bluefire Reader: Apple or
Android
3. Open the Bluefire Reader App and
login using your Adobe account.
4. Go to EBL via a web browser to
search and download eBooks.
5. Most books will require you to select
Read Online before clicking the
DOWNLOAD button on the EBL book
page.
6. Click Download below PDF or ePUB.
The book will be transferred into the
Bluefire Reader App.

Kindle Fire

Create an Adobe account (if you don't have one already).
Install the Bluefire Reader following these instructions.
Open the Bluefire Reader App and login using your Adobe account.
Go to EBL via a web browser to search and download eBooks.
Most books will require you to select Read Online before clicking the
DOWNLOAD button on the EBL book page.
6. Click Download below PDF or ePUB. The book will be transferred into the
Bluefire Reader App.
Kindle Reader
1. Go to EBL via a web browser on computer to search and download eBooks.
2. Most books will require you to select Read Online before clicking the
DOWNLOAD button on the EBL book page.
3. Use Print to save a PDF to your computer:
1. From EBL's print dialog, select the pages you want to print.
2. Once the page(s) are displayed, right click to select print. Do not use
the print icon.
3. Change your printer to "Save as PDF." If not available, you may wish
to install a pdf printer such as CutePDF Writer.
4. Transferred PDF from your computer using Send To Kindle.
Nook and Sony Reader

Install Adobe Digital Editions on your computer.
Create an Adobe account (if you don't have one already).
Go to EBL via a web browser to search and download eBooks.

DOWNLOAD button on the EBL book page.
5. Download an eBook to your computer.
6. Connect your reading device to your computer. The reader appears in
Digital Editions as a new bookshelf in library.
7. Drag and drop the documents to the reader.
Why do I need Adobe Digital Editions and/or the Bluefire Reader?
The eBooks available for the JBPL are protected by Digital Rights Management.
DRM technology is used to limit copying, printing, and the sharing of eBooks. ADE
and the Bluefire Reader allows you to transfer books that are protected by DRM.
