Assumption Catholic School Excellence in Body, Mind and Spirit since 1913, still burning bright! Registration Now Open! Next School Mass Friday, 2/13/15 at 10:30 am, (2nd grade) All School Mass Fr. Luke will be celebrating Mass, DRESS UNIFORMS Parents are always welcome to come to Mass! A Message from the Principal February 11, 2015 The Good Stuff At the rehearsal for the talent show there was a young Kindergarten girl who got up to play a musical instrument. When the curtain opened she had a case of stage fright and ran off stage. After an act, she came back out and tried again. She played beautifully! What happens next is the good stuff: all of the students, kindergarten through eighth grade, were on their feet giving this young girl a standing ovation. The second good stuff can be summed up from an email I reviewed from Gina and Chris DePalma. It said, "Chris and I just wanted to express our gratefulness for Emma’s display of fruits of the Spirit on Friday night. She Special Points of Interest showed such great fortitude and composure during her piano/singing act because her sheet music was out of order. Most kids would have crumbled, 2.11.15—2.12.15—Jump for Heart but she calmly sat there while Sarah found the correct page. Then later, 2.13.15—Mass at 10:30, all school during her act with Phoebe, she displayed amazing kindness and compassion DRESS UNIFORM by first encouraging Phoebe to keep going then shaking off the audience to let 2.16.15—NO SCHOOL, us all know they were going to finish the song, to finally putting her arm President’s Day around Phoebe to let her know they were in it together. It was a beautiful and 2.17.15—Field Trip (6th grade) impressive display of Christian love. Please let Emma know that Mr. & Mrs. DePalma appreciate what she showed her fellow students on the 2.18.15—Ash Wednesday, 10:30 Mass (6th grade) DRESS UNIFORM stage Friday night. Thank You." 2.19.15—Chinese New Year Lunch, Middle School 2.25.15—Hot Lunch 2.25.15—Middle School Retreat 2.26.15—Assembly Assumption School Newspaper Ads Parents of middle school students can buy advertisements in the student-run school newspaper, Hark the Herald. They can be used to wish a child a happy birthday, congratulate a team on a win, or simply just a message to your child. The advertisements are $5 and can be paid at the front office. The money raised will go towards helping to fund the school newspaper. I understand that the crowd was cheering both girls on.
