Dominoes Rules
Object of the Game:
To be the first player to match all of your dominoes.

Set Up:
Place all the dominoes, face down, on the table and mix them together.
If two players are playing, each player takes seven dominoes. If three or four players are playing,
each player takes five dominoes.
Players stand their dominoes on the table so that only they can see the pictures on their dominoes.
The remaining dominoes form the draw pile. Dominoes in the draw pile remain face down until
they are drawn.
How to Play:
The youngest player starts by laying one of his/her dominoes, face up, on the table. Play continues to
the left with the next player trying to match one of the ends of one of his/her dominoes to one of the
ends of the domino that was just played. Play continues in this manner, forming a trail of dominoes that
have been matched end to end. Players can match a domino to either end of the trail of dominoes.
When players cannot match one of their dominoes to either end of the trail of dominoes, they take a
domino from the draw pile. If they are able to match that domino they may play it on that turn. That
player’s turn is then over. If players are unable to match the domino they took, they keep it and their turn
is over.
Doubles:
When a player can play a domino that has the same picture on both ends, that player places that
domino crosswise next to the domino it matches. This begins a new trail, and players can now
match dominoes to both ends of the doubles domino as well as to the other end of the trail.
Play continues in this manner until one player has matched all of his/her dominoes. If all the
dominoes from the draw pile are gone and one or more players cannot play one of their
dominoes, they skip their turns. The other player(s) continue to play until they cannot play one of
their dominoes.
Ending and Winning the Game:
The first player to play all of his/her dominoes is the winner. If all players still hold dominoes and
no player can play, the player with the fewest dominoes left is the winner.
