Camp Quality Fundraising Toolkit
Why your
fundraising makes
a difference?
Camp Quality has been supporting children living with cancer and their families since
1983.
We understand that having a child diagnosed with cancer can be devastating. A
families world is turned upside down and the emotional, physical and financial impact
can last long after the initial diagnosis.
Camp Quality believes that caring for children with cancer and their families goes
beyond treatment and medication. That’s why we believe in the power of positive
thinking, and that optimistic and resilient behaviours are fundamental psychosocial skills
required for the cancer journey.
Our unique programs cover educational, financial, hospital and recreational needs and
are delivered by 13 National offices, 80 staff and over 3,000 volunteers throughout
Australia.
We passionately believe in celebrating life, fun, optimism and hope.

As a guide, here are some popular fundraising strategies to do at home, school or your
workplace.
Easy “giggle” ideas

Mufti days – Who doesn’t love a casual Friday? Hold a regular day at your school or
workplace and charge those who join in. You can theme the mufti day too, make it


Morning or Afternoon Tea – invite your friends and family, organise for your school or
workplace! Charge an entry fee and have entrants donate a plate of food.


Hold a Garage or Book Sale – Someone’s trash is another person’s treasure! De-clutter
your house and raise funds for Camp Quality at the same time! Ask your friends and
colleagues to join in too, maybe they have a few items that could add to the sale?

Guessing Competition – fill up a jar with lollies, marbles, or anything you can get your
hands on! Charge each person per guess and have a nice prize for the person who
guesses the closest without going over....PLUS they get the jar with the goodies!

Colouring In Competition – hold a competition with school friends or work colleagues.

Shave / Colour / Spray your hair – have people sponsor you to change your hair,

Let’s get
serious for
a moment
Ok, so now you know how you would like to fundraise for Camp Quality, the next step is
to get started!
Do you want to join a fundraising event or are you creating your own? Then follow the
instructions below to start fundraising for us!
Fundraise for one of our events
If you want to join, register or set up your fundraising page for one of our events, then
please visit our Events page at www.campqualityfundraising.org.au to find the event
you want to fundraise for.
Create your own fundraising event
If you’d like to create your own fundraising event to raise funds for Camp Quality - be it
a trivia night, garage sale, mufti day or any other wacky or new idea, please click here
to download and complete a Fundraising Application form. The information you
complete will help us provide you with an Authority to Fundraise and you can then
begin fundraising!
Once you have filled out the application and sent it back, we will contact you to have a
chat and to help you with anything else you may need. CQ can provide you with
donation tins, receipt books, bookmarks, balloons, posters etc to help you promote your
event.
When all the t’s are crossed and i’s are dotted, we will send you a Fundraising Sanction
Letter, this is an authority that allows you to fundraise on behalf of Camp Quality.
Note; if you are fundraising online through a fundraising website like Everyday Hero, your sanction is handled
by the online fundraising website.
Expenses at Your Fundraiser
If your event incurs expenses, as a requirement, you must provide Camp Quality with a
budget of expenses prior to the fundraising event.
You can deduct your necessary expenses from the proceeds of your fundraising activity,
however total expenses should not exceed 40% of total earnings, and you must let
Camp Quality know if you will do this prior to the event. For an easy way to check, ask us
for a copy of our budget template.

Create an
Online
Fundraising
Page
Create a Fundraising page at www.campqualityfundraising.org.au
5 reasons why creating a fundraising page at www.campqualityfundraising.org.au is an
awesome way to share what you are doing and why.
1
Every dollar raised goes to Camp Quality
This is our official Camp Quality supporters’ website so every dollar donated through
your page will go directly to Camp Quality. You avoid handling funds and your
family and friends receive an immediate tax deductible receipt. (Your offline
donations will also appear in your total as long as your donor tributes you at the
time of the donation).
2
Raise your goal
Everyone loves to win! When you set your goal you will be sharing it, and when
friends and family donate they will see their contribution helping you reach your
goal for the kids.
3
Asking for donations is easy
Once your page is set up you’ll have a cool dashboard that makes emailing friends
your page and linking it to your favourite social media links a breeze.
4
Giving thanks makes everyone feel good
Your dashboard will help you manage your thank you emails, keep track of who is
yet to donate.
5
You’re making a difference
You’re sharing in our mission, to be there for every child with cancer and their family
throughout their journey- wherever it may take them. The more you raise the more
impact we can have on reaching every child living with cancer and their families.
Register through Everyday Hero
You can be our hero by building your own personal fundraising page. It only takes a few
minutes to build and email to all of your contacts. www.campqualityfundraising.org.au

We can help you
with......
Brochures & Promotional Material
Camp Quality can send you brochures, bookmarks, balloons, postcards, tattoos and
badges. We also have Camp Quality banners which can be loaned for activities or
events.
Collection Cans & Buckets
Cans and buckets are a great way of raising money. Simply display them in a prominent
and secure location for people to drop in their spare change.
Filled collection devices are to be returned to Camp Quality to be opened and
counted by Camp Quality staff. If you are unable to return your collection device,
please contact Camp Quality so alternate arrangements can be made.
Volunteer Badges
Some activities will involve direct face to face collection. Camp Quality will need to
issue volunteer badges displaying the authority details which must be worn by all
collectors. Collectors’ details will be registered and badges must be returned to Camp
Quality at the end of your activity or event.
Raffle and Receipt Books
Camp Quality can provide you with raffle books ($2 and $5)
We can also provide you with receipt books for your fundraiser. Receipt books must be
returned at the end of the event whether they have been used or not.
Camp Quality issues 2 different types of receipt books; Tax Deductible and Non-Tax
Deductible Receipt Books. Each has different uses according to the tax regulations as
set out by the Australia Taxation Office.
As a guide, if you are receipting a donation where a person or organisation is receiving
nothing in return a tax deductible receipt can be issued. In most other cases for
example, Auctions, tickets to Balls etc a non-tax deductible receipt is to be issued.
