Thea de Guzman Fractal Project Koch Snowflake Other Name: Koch Island Short Description: It first started from the equilateral triangle then when the third side is removed another equilateral triangle builds where the side was removed. This process is repeated. This can also be instructed by using motif and a base curve. Also, in every iteration, the shape is increased by one third from the last. It has infinite iteration so the area is infinite and length. Minkowski Sausage Other Name: Also refers to Minkowski cover Short Description: A base and motif form Minkowski Susage. First, the first line segment is substituted with a motif and after every one of the eight line segment, it is substituted with a motif again. This process is repeated. Dragon Curve Other Name: Jurassic Park Fractal Short Description: It is a curve that does not intersect, and this can be formed by paper or generator iteration. This is also equivalent to with a right angle. First, the right angle is replaced with a smaller right angle. This process is also repeated. H Fractal Other Name: T-shaped Short Description: First, it is built of horizontal segments. Then, vertical segments are being attached perpendicular to the end point. After, horizontal segments are then attached to the 4 end point from the previous step. This process is repeated. So in the third step, there would be 8 vertical segments. Hilbert Curve Other Name: Hilbert space-filling curve Short Description: it is described as space filling curve. The space-filling curve visits the points in a square grid of any power of 2. This curve can be described as a cup and joins. A cup has approximately 2 end points that can be either an entry or exit. A join has 4 different directions which are up, down, left or right. Fractal Music Other Name: Short description: fractal music can be made in two ways, one is by the L-system and the other is the fractal motion. The L-system is short string symbols that can be replaced. These symbols can be chords, notes.. The fraction motion is when it starts with a straight line and then repeated by alternating the portion of the line.
