Hot drinks policy is read and signed by volunteer and
copy in file
Health and Safety Policy displayed in tea bars
Trays are used by volunteers if they are serving drinks
Spillages on surfaces and floors are cleaned up
immediately
Visitors and service users do not have access to tea
bars
Volunteers are given guidance on safe use of toasters
Tongs are available for removing toast
Toaster turned off after use

Using dishwasher

Volunteer using the dishwasher may
injure themselves

Toaster is cleaned regularly

Volunteer shown correct procedure for loading and
unloading dishwasher
Volunteer will wait to unload dishwasher once
crockery has cooled down
COSHH data sheets are available in tea bars


Environment (Issue that will impact on activity, people, buildings etc)
 The number of individuals in the
tea bar will be limited to two at
any one time
 Volunteers will be made aware of
the need for good hygiene
practices when serving
refreshments through Hygiene
