Positive postions Game drill A M V tr WHAT? Defense – Positional Defense – Prevent build up-play WHY? To give the opponents as little time and space as possible HOW? - Player closest to the ball holder press the opponent outwards GK - The other player / players cover the attractive space behind - When you press, have your body in ”defense position”, which means to have your body in a half upright position. Important to bend your knees and hips. - Time your press = If you want to win the ball back, start you press at the exact same (or a hundreth second earlier) moment as the opponent passes the ball. Make sure that you have press distance. X X X X X X X X X - If you cannot win the ball, steer the opponent in the direction you want them and delay their movement. - If you do not have cover, wait until you have before you press the opponent. - Hold the line straight. The wide player at the other side commands the other players in the line if it needs to be adjusted. - Keep the distance between each other intact. - Use the collective movement methods side-to-side, centering, advance, retreat and high / low defensive line. - Remember that the aim is to have the opponents around and in front of us, but never to pass a ball in between us. STRUCTURE? Full pitch, goals, vests, balls. 20 players, two goalkeepers. Adjust the area and amount of players if necessary according to area formula. RULES? The game always starts with the coach who passes the ball to the red team. Their aim is to score at the blue team. The blue team starts in their postions at the our own half and uses the collective movement methods to minimize time and space for the opponents. If the blue team wins the ball, they can of course attack. The game ends when one of teams score, the ball goes out of play or if the coach says so. Advanced level = Let the red team start with the ball from the goalkepper and blue team defenses with higher starting positions. Allow set pieces. X GK
