NEW ON LINE COURSE FOR ARs IN
PATHWAY GAMES IS NOW AVAILABLE
Introduction and recording of accreditation
The online Assistant Refereeing Kids Rugby course is a pilot in 2014. It is a condensed version of the
Level 1 Assistant Referee course and contains only the information required to effectively act as an
Assistant Referee for Pathways (U8-12) games in Australia. There is no separate exam as there are
quiz questions at the end of each section.
Completion of this course will meet the SJRU competition rule definition of “current ARU Assistant
Referee accreditation” for you to act as an accredited Assistant Referee in U10-12 games. Rather
than writing your name and ARU number on the sign-in sheet, write your name and ‘AR KR’ on the
sign-in sheet. If you will be Assistant Refereeing in U13 or older age groups, you must complete the
Level 1 Assistant Referee course (face-to-face) and exam in order to meet the competition rule
requirements.
Completion of the AR KR course will not be reflected on MyRugby cards in 2014, but the intent is to
have this on the MyRugby card for 2015. A list of successful course completions will be maintained
by the Referee Education Coordinator – NSW, Alex Richards, and passed to SJRU on a regular basis.
Any questions on this accreditation or feedback on the course content should be emailed to him at
[email protected].
