1. hat is the Airtel SMS Promotion?
The Airtel SMS promotion contest (called “Airtel Pay Day”) is available exclusively for Airtel
customers. It is an SMS game based on questions and answers sent through text messages
and a unique service offering daily points for the prizes. Answering to questions through SMS
or subscribing to the subscription service players collect points to win prizes. The players that
have collected the maximum points on specific days, during each week, and the whole
campaign, win prizes according to the prize structure below.
2. Prizes
The lineup of prizes is:
Daily
There will be 1 winner every day, except for Sundays. The daily prize will be awarded via the
top scorer mechanism. The winners will be determined every day at 23:59:59. The participants
will participate with all their points (score), and must have performed at least one billed
transaction during that day (have sent billed SMS or have been billed through the MT
subscription service). The daily prize will be GHC 500 (54 winners in total). ONE PARTICIPANT
CANNOT WIN MORE THAN 1 DAILY PRIZE.
Weekly
There will be 1 winner every Sunday, except for the last Sunday of the campaign (03/05/2015)
when the final prize is given away. The weekly prize will be awarded via the top scorer
mechanism. The winners will be determined every Sunday at 23:59:59. The participants will
participate with all their points (score), and must have performed at least one billed
transaction during that week (have sent billed SMS or have been billed through the MT
subscription service). The weekly prize will be GHC 2,000 (8 winners in total). ONE
PARTICIPANT CANNOT WIN MORE THAN 1 WEEKLY PRIZE.

Final
There will be 1 final winner of the campaign and he/she will be determined on 03/05/2015
at 23:59:59). The final prize will be awarded via the top scorer mechanism. The participants
will participate with all their points (score), as soon as they have performed at least one billed
transaction (have sent billed SMS or have been billed through the MT subscription service)
during the whole campaign duration. The final prize is GHC 40,000 (1 winner in total). ONE
PARTICIPANT CANNOT WIN MORE THAN 1 FINAL PRIZE.
Extra
The extra prize in the form of electronic gadgets will be awarded on particular days which will
be announced during the campaign. They are awarded to the players who have sent the most
SMS throughout the whole campaign up to the days on which the extra prizes will be awarded.
The winners will be determined on the selected date at 23:59:59. Eligible to win the extra
prize are those players who have performed at least one billed transaction (have sent billed
SMS or have been billed through the MT subscription service) 5 days before the day the
surprise prize will be awarded). The extra prize is an iPhone 6 (2 winners in total). ONE
PARTICIPANT CANNOT WIN MORE THAN 1 EXTRA PRIZE.
3. Where can I find the rules of the game?
The Rules of the game are located on the Airtel Ghana Website .
4. What is the duration of the game?
The competition begins on 02/03/2015 at 00:00:01 and ends on 03/05/2015 at 23:59:59. The
duration of the competition is 63 days.
5. Which subscribers can participate in the game?
All Airtel subscribers who are not Airtel employees or their direct relatives can participate in
the campaign.
6. How can I start playing the trivia game?
All you have to do is to send an SMS with any content (can also be blank) to 5300.
You will then receive 2 messages.
The 1st is a welcome message informing you about the game and the prizes.
The 2nd is the first question of the game.
After the welcome message, participants will also be informed about special offers or extra
bonus point phases. An additional way of participating will also be available later in the
campaign through the MT subscription service. More information will be provided to
subscribers when this way of participating is activated.

7. How can I subscribe to the “Extra Points” MT subscription service?
All you have to do is to send an SMS with “OK” to 5100 and you will get daily points which
bring you closer to the prizes.
8. What is the cost of the SMS I send to 5300?
Every SMS you send to 5300 costs GHC 1.00 including VAT tax (gross price).
9. What is the cost of the SMS I send to/receive from 5100?
Every SMS you send to 5100 is free of charge.
10. What is the cost of the daily “Extra Points” subscription service?
Every “Extra Points” subscription message received from 5300 costs GHC 0.5/day.
11. What are points?
Gather many points so as to get closer to those prizes.
12. How many points do I earn for every question that I answer?
If you answer the question correctly, you get at least 50 points. If you give a wrong or invalid
answer you get 10 points. But during the game there are many bonus phases that give you
much more than 50 points.
13. Can a winner end up winning the same prize more than once?
No, each player is eligible to win only one of each type of prizes, but (s) he can win different
category prizes.
If you win a daily prize (i.e. GHC 500) you are not eligible to win another daily prize, but you
can still win a weekly, the final and one extra prize.
If you win a weekly prize (i.e. GHC 2,000) you are not eligible to win another weekly prize, but
you can still win a daily, the final and one extra prize.
If you win an extra prize (i.e. iPhone 6) you are not eligible to win another extra prize, but you
can still win a daily, the final and one weekly prize.
If you win the final prize (i.e. GHC 40,000) you are not eligible to win another final prize, but
you can still win a daily, an extra and one weekly prize.
14. How do I know if I won?
The winners will be notified via the mobile number they used to participate with in the contest
and/or on the Airtel Ghana Website.

15. How do I receive my prize?
We will be contacting you asking for more information, if you are declared a potential winner.
16. Is there a limit regarding the number of SMS I have to send?
No. Play as much as you can! The more points you collect the closer you get to the prizes.
17. Do I lose my points if I don’t play the next day?
No, your points are not lost. They are accumulated until the end of the promotion and are
used to enter the final prize designation.
18. How do I play the Trivia game?
Once you register you will start receiving questions to answer. These questions will have 2
possible answers.
19. What do I need to be eligible for the prize?
In order to be eligible to win the prize you must meet the Prize eligibility requirements as
mentioned in the Rules of the game. The Rules can be found on the Airtel Ghana Website .
20. How can I find out my total points?
You can request the Call Center 121 to tell you your total points, or send “SCORE” to 5100
(free of charge).
21. How do I stop receiving informational messages from the Trivia game and the
Subscription Service?
If you do not wish to receive further informational messages from the trivia game and the
“Extra Points” subscription service all you have to do is text “STOP” or “END” to 5100 or 5300
or request the Call Center 121 to do so.
22. How can I find out about the winners of the competition?
