Rules of the Competition






The competition will be run in accordance with the rules and regulations
as laid down by British Showjumping.
Qualifiers for the Jumping Championships of Great Britain.
To qualify you need to achieve a double clear in each class.
Please make sure you collect your qualification card.
Some classes will run as a two phase. Those jumping clear in the first
phase go on immediately to the second phase which is against the clock.
The finish line for the first phase is the starting line for the second phase.
When you walk the course you should also walk the jump off course
Please note: prize money will be awarded in relation to the number of
entries per class. One prize will be awarded per five entrants.
Venue Rules
1. The organisers and landowner do not accept liability for damage, accident,
injury or illness to horses, riders, spectators or personal property
2. No unauthorised persons to enter rings
3. Hard hats and appropriate riding clothes must be worn
4. No horse or pony under 4 years may enter any of the ridden classes
5. The Committee reserves the right to refuse or cancel any entry or entries of
any person if they shall deem it fit to do so without reasons for doing so
6. Anyone found galloping around arenas will be asked to leave
7. The judge may disqualify any competitor for misuse of whips or spurs
8. No lunging
9. Competitors who disobey any judge of officials decision could be refused
entry in future Parley Equestrian Centre competitions
10. Competitors are responsible for adhering to their start times. Riders
arriving late may be allowed to take part at the judges discretion
11. In the event of adverse weather conditions, it is the competitor’s
responsibility to telephone the show secretary.
12. All dogs must be kept on a lead at all times, owners must provide bags and
clear up any mess left by dogs!
13. No mucking out of horseboxes in the car park

Chase Me Charlie – How high can you go?
Speed Class - One round against the clock. The winner will be the fastest round with the
least faults. 4 seconds added for each fence down. Under rules Table 2 BSJA
Take Your Own Line - All fences to be jumped in any order chosen by the competitor, but must be
jumped from the numbered side. Each competitor must start the clock after the bell has rung by passing
through the start timing equipment. After completing all of the fences the competitor must pass through
the finish timing equipment to stop the clock. The results will be decided on the fastest round with the
least faults.
Pairs 2’3”- Both riders to be in the arena with a baton swap between rounds. In the event of either of the
combination having three refusals during the round the other rider must complete the course on their
behalf, should this result in a further three refusals the pair will be eliminated.Entry fee £14 per pair
Horse & Hound – One round horse & rider and one round rider & dog. 4 seconds added for each fence
