Ful-Vane™ Single-Stage Vacuum Pumps High-efficiency bearing design Longer lasting blade material for reduced downtime Water-cooled for maximum efficiency Ductile iron rotor reduces maintenance FUL-VANE™ SINGLE-STAGE VACUUM PUMPS Sliding Vane Technology for the Highest Efficiency • High-efficiency bearing design • Longer lasting blade material for reduced downtime • Water-cooled for maximum efficiency • Forged steel rotor reduces maintenance FLSmidth’s vacuum pumps are backed by over 75 years of engineering expertise and industry know-how. With over 27,000 units in service, FLSmidth is one of the largest manufacturers of rotary-vane compressors in the world. Sliding-Vane Technology Developed from Fuller® design and technology, FLSmidth’s Ful-Vane™ vacuum pumps automatically compensate for wear, resulting in consistently maintained, highly efficient operation. Centrifugal force holds the rotor vanes against the cylinder wall, preventing efficiency loss due to vane wear. Cost-Effective Design Thanks to smooth, pulse-free operation, FLSmidth vacuum pumps require no special foundations or supports. The combination of compact design and drive flexibility makes FLSmidth vacuum pumps ideal for point-ofuse installations. Bearings, vanes and seals are the only routine wearing parts, and are all easily accessible by removing the cylinder head. FLSmidth’s vacuum pumps can be easily overhauled in the field in just a few hours. Improved Bearing Design FLSmidth vacuum pumps are equipped with a fixed bearing at the coupling end of the shaft and a floating bearing at the closed end. The Typical Applications General Vacuum • Chemical Plants • Pharmaceutical • Manufacturing, Textile • Manufacturing, Refrigeration Vacuum Holding • Clay, Glass and Ceramic Products Vacuum Sealing • Food Processing Vacuum Forming • Plastic Products Vacuum De-Gassing • Foundries Vacuum Filtering • Mining Flash Drying • Petroleum Refining fixed bearing allows the compressor shaft to carry greater horsepower side loading when a v-belt drive arrangement is used. Also, this bearing combination allows for thermal expansion of the rotor, yet maintains clearance during operation for high efficiency. New Blade Material Our proven B-3000™ standard composite compressor blade material is lighter, stronger and longer lasting. These features translate to less downtime and added productivity for your valuable equipment. Water-Cooled Efficiency FLSmidth vacuum pumps are water cooled for maximum efficiency. The cylinder is jacketed for cooling with a horizontal dividing section so that the jacketed cylinder heads pass the cooling water to the upper section. A special dense, long wearing cast iron is used for construction. Cast Ductile Iron Rotor FLSmidth’s standard vacuum pump rotor is constructed of centrifugal cast ductile iron with an integral shaft. This quality engineered design assures durability and reduced maintenance eliminating auxiliary shafts required with v-belt drives as used on competitive models.
