Standard Chartered Mauritius launches “Goal” curriculum training in Mauritius Standard Chartered Mauritius launched a 4 days training for “Goal” targeting organisations who can potentially deliver the curriculum to the teenage girls within their reach. 40 participants registered for this first of its kins training, that was launched on Monday 25 May by the Honourable Mrs Aurore Perraud, Minister of Gender Equality, Child Development and Family Welfare. Women Win, the group approved trainer flew from Amsterdam to run the training that involved classroom and outdoor sessions. The participants discovered the four modules of the curriculum, namely: “Be yourself”, “Be Healthy”, “Be empowered”, and “Be Money Savy”, that are activity and play based teachings. Amongst the participants were the officers and educators from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Gender Equality, Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Youth Rehabilitation Centre (Mauritius Prisons),that have come to assess the program and see how it can be implemented at a national level. There were also several NGOs, working with underprivileged youngsters enrolled including Cedem, Safire, Kinouete, Rays of Hope, Teens in Control and Africa Ladies Association, that can potentially use the program to reach out to the girls within their organisations. The core “Goal” team of the bank was also present in the training, engaging with the participants and facilitating the discussion sessions. The program will be rolled out, in its pilot phase, within two NGOS, that is, SAFIRE and CEDEM that have signed an agreement with the bank. They will reach out to 50 street children, youngsters with disabilities and other vulnerable groups of girls that come to their organisation on a regular basis The Opening Sridhar Nagarajan,CEO Standard Chartered Mauritius opens the event with a welcome note to the participants.
