Energy Saving Tips
to lower your bills
At home
7
Sometimes it’s the smallest things that make the biggest
difference. Saving energy is great for the environment and
lowers the cost of your electricity bill. You can start out
with these five simple tips.
Switch appliances off when you’re not
1.
using them. On standby, appliances can use
up to 20% of the electricity they do when
they’re switched on.
4. Use lids on your pots and saucepans to
conserve energy and help your food cook
more quickly.
2. With ovens and fridges, only open the
doors when you really have to. This keeps
your oven hot and your fridge cold.
is spent on heating the water. When using
your washing machine, try washing your
clothes at 30°.
3. Turn off lights when you leave a room.
In the evening, you can also switch off
excess lights in your living room for some
atmospheric lighting.
