Facilitate lesson study process that extends the content of the Summer
Institute into the school year. Cultivate professional connections between
university-based historians, museum professionals, and k-12 teachers to
increase the quantity and quality of history education in Placer County
schools.

entitled “The Nation and Its Schools: Federal and National
Strategies of School Reform” supported by the Spencer and
Hewlett Foundations. Designed evaluation instrument and
wrote summative report for the funding agencies.

Led state-wide collaborative initiative of k-12 educators,

agencies, and teacher educators to address homophobia and

Coordinated partnership with participating elementary and
middle schools. Developed quantitative and qualitative
analytic schemes to assess classroom ecology using student
drawings. Designed and implemented study of pre-service
teachers‟ perceptions of teaching using a series of
drawings.

observations, and document analysis to investigate ways in
which pre-service teachers negotiate “controversial” topics
in secondary history classrooms.
