Nine good reasons to choose term cover

9 good reasons to choose
term cover from Aviva
1. Rolling conversion – best available in the market
You can have an ongoing option, right up to age 85 next birthday, to convert your life cover to a new policy, without
the need to provide any medical evidence.
2. Indexation – nobody offers better value
You have the option to increase your cover by 3% every year without the need to provide evidence of good health ensuring your cover is protected from the effects of inflation. To meet the cost of these increases in your cover, your
premium will increase on each anniversary by 4%.
3. Age at which life cover can finish – highest available in the market
Cover is available up to age 90 next birthday for life cover under Mortgage Protection Plan and Flexible Protection
Plan.
4. Cover term – longest available in the market
Cover terms of up to 50 years are available for level and convertible term life cover.
5. Guaranteed insurability option under mortgage protection
You can increase your mortgage protection life cover by up to an additional €40,000 during the term of your policy,
with no requirement for further medical evidence. This useful benefit allows you to meet the need for life assurance
if you increase your mortgage.
6. Convertible term – smoker status on conversion will apply
We reward customers who quit smoking after their original policy was taken out with non-smoker rates on
conversion, if they haven’t smoked for 12 months prior to conversion.
7. Specified illness partial payments – highest available in the market
If you are eligible to claim under your specified illness policy, we will pay €20,000 or half of your cover amount,
whichever is lower for 19 illnesses. Please see the Flexible Protection Cover brochure for full details.
8. Cover for a child
Specified illness cover from Aviva also provides cover for children. By “children” or “child” we mean any child,
stepchild or adopted child of the insured who is aged 30 days or more and who is under the age of 21. If you take
out specified illness cover, we cover each of your children for €2,500 life cover for as long as you are covered. We
will only pay one claim for each child no matter how many plans you have with us. Children are covered for the
same specified illnesses for which the insured is covered under the plan. For full payment illnesses, children are
covered for €25,000 or half of the cover amount, whichever is lower. For partial payment illnesses, children are
covered for €10,000 or a quarter of your cover amount, whichever is lower. As we do not ask for any medical details
about your children before we include them in your plan, a child won’t be covered for specified illness if: (i) the
condition was present at birth, (ii) the symptoms first arose before the child was covered, or (iii) the child dies within
14 days of diagnosis.
