How does music impact your business?
“A lot of what we do is manicures and pedicures so obviously it’s nice to have some background music. Although we’re
chatting a lot of the time - I think it would be very different if the place was totally silent because the atmosphere would
be dead. I think if we weren’t to have music we would lose business to our competitors because most places tend to
have a radio these days.”
Does the use of music impact your total revenue?
“I think we’d still have a client base if we didn’t have it, but some clients maybe wouldn’t feel as comfortable and would
switch to somewhere with music. It’s a bit like if you go out for a meal or drink at one of those places that don’t play
music and for me it would put me off. It’s the same for a lot of people in this industry as well, so it really does affect the
business and what we’re trying to get across.”
