Sharing Data

From the January 12, 2017 event about
Job interviews
• About half of you reported an average of up to one job interview per
week.
• We found a positive correlation between the number of job
interviews and the number of job seekers hired
• We discussed about tools e.g. Portfolio, Visual Resume, Video
Resume, and Job Try-Out
Questions:
• Since last January, did you have a chance to reflect more about your
approach to job interviews?
• Have you changed anything in the way you approach job interviews?
• Any story to share?

The majority of respondents reported meeting up to
3 employers/week (63%)
Questions:
• Is up to 3 employers met per week aligned with
what you would expect?
•
What factors influence the number of employers
met per week? (e.g. General networking vs
specific job development; New employers vs
known employers; Business events vs individual
meetings; etc)
•
Can you think of a story about a successful
meeting with an employer? What was your goal?
What worked? What would you do differently?

Employers met
There is a slightly positive correlation between the number of employers met (X axis) and the number of job seekers
hired (Y axis). But that is not always the case (see circled data points)
Questions:
• Is it realistic for you to increase the number of employers met weekly? What would you need to make it happen?
•
What makes a meeting with an employer more likely to lead to an employment outcome?
•
What will you do differently this coming month to engage with employers?
