Marae Trip
On Tuesday the Kakapo team had a wonderful time visiting the
Hukanui Marae. After the formal welcome the children took part in
a range of activities including, poi making, traditional games,
“meeting house history”, and learning an action song. The
highlight was probably the hangi which the children were able to
watch go down, and open up, and then they got to eat hangi food
for lunch. A big thank you to the Kakapo teachers and support
staff, parent helpers, Willy Heteraka, and the Hukanui Marae, for
your team work which resulted in a most fantastic educational day
for our children
Junior Reports and Conferences
Junior reports and conferences happen in the term that coincides
with each child’s 6th month and 12th month start at school. If you
have a child in the juniors and they bring home a report today then
we would ask that you book a teacher parent conference for
Wednesday 23 March – instructions are included with the report. (If
your child doesn’t bring home a report then their conference will be
held next term.)

Hey everyone, before the pool closes for the year, let's have a fun
round of flippa ball games against Te Rapa School. This is for
Year 4 and 5 only, this time, so if you are a year 4 or 5 student and
want to have a "go" at flippa ball then come along. This Sunday 20
March, between 2- 4pm You will need your, togs and a towel and
a parent or other responsible adult. This is not a 'free-for-all' swim
this is a chance to see if you want to play flippa ball, so there can
be no bombing or diving, meaning the usual safety rules will still
apply and be adhered to.
Hope to see lots of you there.
