EARMA Event : FP8 in the horizon

Invitation to: EARMA autumn event : FP8 in the horizon
EARMA Event : FP8 in the horizon
The next framework programme for research
and technological development is taking shape”
Engaging EARMA members in the debate on European
research policy
November 22, Venue: Brussels
This represents an exciting opportunity for members to learn
the latest on simplification policies and how they are likely to
influence Framework 8 ( FP8 ). For the first time, EARMA is
actively engaging its membership to consider the key issues
and to help influence the debate.
Further Details
The debate on the future shape of Framework 8 (FP8) has
already commenced, with the issues surrounding simplification
currently taking centre stage. This seminar represents a unique
early opportunity for EARMA members to learn more about the
latest developments on simplification and to debate other key
drivers in the development of FP8 and the European Research
Area. Keynote speakers from both the European Commission
(DG Research) and the European Parliament (TBC) will set the
scene for an interactive session where members can present
their views on both simplification and the research policies
which will have a direct bearing on how their institutions
engage with European research in the future. Members will also
have a further opportunity share their views on EARMA’s paper
on simplification and on how implementation of FP8.
EARMA Simplification paper:
By September EARMA will have circulated its position paper on
simplification and members have already played an active part
in the drafting of this paper. This interactive session takes the
process one stage on, by beginning considering the following
key issues:
How will simplification be implemented in FP8? Are there any
significant barriers to simplification? What links should be
established between FP8 and other funding mechanisms? How
can FP8 and academia best contribute to the goals of EU 2020?
What are the issues of most concern to members and how
should EARMA best represent its members in the debate on
FP8?
