Please help with this process – it is a valuable life skill to teach. Meetings should not take place with coaches before/after practices/contests unless previously scheduled. SCHOOL ATTENDANCE • All student-athletes are expected to attend all classes daily • Any student who represents their school in athletic competitions must be present in school the day of the game unless prior arrangements have been made with the administration. • A student-athlete who is home sick/other on the day of a contest is ineligible to compete that day. All fall sports parents are asked to sign up ASAP. All Winter and Spring sports parents may sign up when your daughter makes a team. Sports and Spirituality Anne Stricherz • Anne Stricherz has been speaking the language of sports and spirituality her entire life. Anne credits her high school, Carondelet, with truly forming her into a studentathlete. She currently teaches at St. Ignatius in San Francisco (for the past 14 years). It is through her experience as a four-year rower at the University of Notre Dame that she encountered the Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE) Program. ACE grounded Anne in the ministry and vocation of teaching. In 2009, Anne created a blog and theology course entitled Sports & Spirituality. An avid sports fan, Anne believes we can learn more about the spiritual life through the analogy of sports. Today she works with coaches to help them create their own program for the spiritual development of their athletes. She is in the process of writing a book to serve as a complimentary resource. Anne has spoken about Sports and Spirituality at parishes, local and national conferences. She is now working with other athletic departments—in particular at secondary schools nationwide—to help them "faith train" their athletes. Thank You For Coming!
