Arduino Vs. Raspberry Pi

Introduction :
 In the beginning, the calculator is the basic
idea of computers out, then that arrived at
the large computers .
 in1980 or late seventies discovered that the
computer not only to compute..
 came “Sakhr” company and translated the
machine and turned it into Arabic, it was
very successful.
 In 2000 and nineties, they get out small
devices all wiring is internal 'inside device'.
 In 2006 the Raspberry Pi come out in the
technology world.
 Find out the professor ( Eben Upton) in CAMBRIDGE
University that the students choose Computer Science to
become a programmer and they love that.
 but in practice they can not apply what studied it, also
that the devices "computers, laptops..” too expensive and
the university can’t let their devices to experiences of
students.
 began the idea of Raspberry Pi, and it has making
achieved great success in both educational and practical
spheres.
• It is small device like card size , it can
running computer system, and doing
every thing that can do it in computer.
• In very low cost.
What can I do with Raspberry Pi ?
• You can use Raspberry Pi like any computer traditional.
Such as :
1. surf the Internet.
2. send e-mail.
3. edit files and
documents.
4. electronic control
projects.
5. convert any TV you have to a
home entertainment system.
Raspberry Pi Models :
It have two models : model ( A ) and model ( B )
In July of 2014, they an updated version of the
Models :
( Model A+) and (Model B+) ,
in same specifications but for the better.
( Model A+) : Become smaller and has more GPIO.
( Model B+) : Shares the same specs as the Model B, but
comes with 4 USB ports, more GPIO, and more RAM.
The Advantages of Raspberry Pi
:
1- The microcomputer is useful for small or home
based business.
2- The product does not need from the user to
have extensive programming experience.
3- The raspberry pi gives to the users a lot of
room to experiment and turn it to something
else.
4- The raspberry pi is perfect for adaptive
technology it is able to display image or play
video.
5- The small credit card sized products make it
easy to recycle and do not pollute the
environment.
The Disadvantages of Raspberry Pi :
1- processor is not very fast it is waste of time to
download and install software and it is can't do
any complex multitasking.
2- Not compatible with other operating systems
such as (windows).
3- It is not useful for bigger business that
already have a big server.
Initial design considerations :
From 2006 to 2008 they created a lot of designs and
models of which we now know as the raspberry pi.
By 2008, processors that are designed for mobile
devices are becoming more affordable.
a feature that would makes the board of junk in
kids who did not initially be interested in the purely
programming guide device.
Three years later, the raspberry pi model B entered
mass production through licensed manufacture
deals.
How to download the system of Raspberry Pi ?
Python :
• Python is programming language
created in 1980s.
• language used by thousands of people
around the world to do things from testing
microchips (like; powering Instagram,
building video games )
People chose to use python language
for 3 reason ;
1. Readability
2. Libraries
3. Community
To set up your Raspberry Pi you will need:
1- SD Card.
2- Display and connectivity cables.
3- Keyboard and mouse.
4- Power supply.
The Raspberry Pi contains :
•USBs.
•Ethernet.
•HDMI cable.
•Micro-USB power.
•SD card.
•Video output.
•Audio output.
•GPIO Pins.
What are the power
requirements ?
The device is powered by 5v micro USB, The
1.2A (1200mA) power can run your Raspberry
Pi for most applications, but we must use 2.5A
(2500mA) if we want to use all 4 USB ports on
the Model B+ without using an external powered
USB hub supply.
• The model ( B ) uses between 700-1000mA
• The Model ( B+) use between 600-2000mA
• The model ( A ) can use as little as 500mA
• In pins take numbers ( 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, 11, 13, 15, 16, 18,
19, 21, 23, 22, 24, 26 ) .
• In pins take numbers ( 1 and 17 ) provide power of 3.3 volts.
• In pins take numbers ( 2 and 4 ) provide power of 5 volts.
GPIO capabilities may include :
- GPIO pins can be configured to be input
or output.
- GPIO pins can be enabled disabled.
- Input values are readable (typically
high = 1, low = 0).
- Output values are writable / readable.
Arduino :
The arduino is programmable microcontroller
designed to read the data from sensors then
send it to computer or raspberry pi.
Arduino
Vs.
Raspberry
Pi :
- The Beet Box :
The idea of this projects is a capacitive touch sensor
that connects to a Raspberry Pi, which sends signals
to an amp inside a handmade wooden case.
- The Pi Phone;
Stuart Johnson took the gutted out the old circuit board,
and replaced it with a Raspberry Pi.
it is synced the Pi to the phone’s dial-pulse system, turning it
into a functioning internet phone At the last update.
- Live Calendar;
Instructables user Piney filled the empty space on his wall
with a Google Calendar. by Using a spare PC monitor and
his Raspberry Pi.
