How To Achieve Success For This
Piece of Learning?
Extension
Literacy/
Numeracy
Use books or the internet to find out more
about what seasides used to be like in the past
and how they have changed. Think about
some of the following questions: What did
they look like? Who went there and why?
What did people do? How do we know about
them?
Choose a way to present the information that
you have found out. This could be:
Design a poster
for a seaside
destination.
Design a poster for a seaside town. This could
be a poster for a modern town or a place in the
past. The internet is a good place to find
examples to help you get started.
Use an attractive design and persuasive language
to make people want to visit your chosen
location.
Turn your poster into the front cover of a mini
travel brochure all about your chosen destination.
Research skills
Share some
information
about a time you
visited the
seaside.
Think of a way you could share a trip to the
seaside you have had with the class. It could be
a trip you have been on recently, one from a
long time ago or one that you are looking
forward to.
Collect some photographs, bring in some objects,
write a recount/story, think of a story you could
tell the class etc.
You could create a card game to challenge the
class to order your chosen animal’s lifecycle
correctly.
Speaking & listening
Choose a
concept that you
are good at that
you could teach
the class about.
Choose something that you are good at and
have a go at creating a poster for our working
wall that will help them with their maths. For
example, you could choose shapes, fractions,
times tables, addition and subtraction.
Anything that we have covered in maths!
Create a poster sharing key information,
vocabulary and steps to finding the right answer.
You could do a mini-lesson with the class to teach
them about your concept.
